Free Trade of the Americas (FTAA)

The FTAA is collaboration among 34 democratic governments in the Americas, including Canada, to ensure the prosperity, democracy and free markets for goods and services in the hemisphere.

At the November 4-5, 2005 Summit of the Americas, Canada, along with 28 other countries in the hemisphere called for the early resumption of the FTAA negotiations.

In 2010, British Columbia exported $739 million of goods to Latin America (Central and South America) and the Caribbean.
